Nah
Music-theatrical performance based on motifs from Schubert’s Erlkönig
With new music for countertenor, piano and electronics
Premiere: 04.04.2019, Hamburg
Nicht zu Nah interweaves interview footage with young people who have experienced sexual
violence at the hands of siblings or have themselves perpetrated assaults on brothers and
sisters, with feverish soundscapes, cinematography and choreography – stuttering narratives of
loneliness alternating with sober descriptions of hard-to-imagine emotional and physical abuse.
„What would I be if this hadn’t happened?“
